His Trip to GA

After not seeing his Uncle Andy, Aunt Kristen and cousins, Sonny and Makenzie, for almost a year, we headed down to GA with my parents for a weekend visit. It was a lot of driving and not enough visiting, but Jase made the most of the time he had with them. We left our house Thursday evening, met up with Grandpa Jack and Grandma, and hit the highway. We got through the first 4 hours of the trip before stopping for the night and finished the the second half of the trip Friday, getting to their house right as the school bus was dropping the kids off. Jase was a little standoffish the first night (mostly due to exhaustion and he wasn't feeling too good), but he woke up Saturday morning ready to go!

TICKLE FIGHT
Jase was the first victim as Makenzie showed no mercy taking Jase down to the floor in belly rolling laughter.

Then, with a little help from Grandpa Jack, Jase got revenge.

And then the two decided to team up and get Grandpa Jack when he least expected it!

MATCH BOX CARS

Sonny knew how much Jase likes playing with cars and trucks and brought down a huge tub of them. Makenzie then proceeded to teach Jase how to organize them all by color.

"See Jase, you put this car with the other purple cars."

I think Jase was more interested in playing with them, though, cause he kept taking the cars out of their rows as Makenzie was putting them in the rows.
So, then Sonny brought down the tracks that make up a little city. There was even a cool haunted race track.
Makenzie was showing Jase how the haunted race track worked.

And Jase found that if he sat in the middle of the track, he could reach the whole thing.

And I'm not sure who had more fun, the little ones, or the big ones.

TUB RACES

I knew two big empty tubs weren't gonna sit there too long before someone wanted to get pushed in them. So the tub racing began.

On your marks...

Get set...
GOOOOOOO!!!!!!

LUNCH
Grandma fed the the little munchkins lunch.

And Jase thought he was something else sitting on the big stool and with the Spiderman plate and cup.
MUDDING TO SEE THE DAM
Uncle Andy had mentioned this dam you can go to that was right by there house. Since we weren't in GA long enough to do any site-seeing I thought we could at least go see the dam. He failed to tell us that it was no official viewing post, rather we'd be walking through gravel and mud to get there.

But we all made it through the mud.

Some having more fun squishing their boots in the mud than others. Jase thought the mud was great while Rob was freaking out that his new kicks were getting dirty.
And when we got to the viewing site...you could barely see the dam...Good job Uncle Andy! LOL
There was a big gully, though, that Jase had fun throwing rocks in.
He would throw the rock in...

And watch it fall alllllll the way down.
O'CHARLIES

We met up with Aunt Kristen's mom and dad for dinner at O'Charlies. Although us hungry adults didn't care for the wait, the kids enjoyed themselves and each other's company.

The three of them waiting to be sat at a table.
And after we got to the table, neither Jase nor Makenzie wanted to sit it their seat, they decided to fight over my lap.

And even though they hid us in the back corner of the restaurant, I think we're a good lookin' bunch!

After dinner Sonny walked Jase out of the restaurant.
FAMILY PHOTOS
Since the last pictures we had before now of just the three grand kids were back when Jase was just several months old with no neck and too much cheek, we made sure we got some family photos while we were all together.

The Grand Kids

The whole family
JUST LIKE SONNY
Jase loves him some Sonny, and when he wasn't playing with Makenzie or chasing the poor cat, he wanted to do what ever Sonny was doing.

So when Sonny got comfortable on the floor watching "The Kids Choice Awards" Jase had to follow suit.

GOODBYE BREAKFAST AT CRACKER BARREL

Cracker Barrel is definitely one of Ma-ma and Da-da's favorite places to eat and I think it is quickly becoming one of Jase's too.

They have fun games to play.
And delicious hot chocolate (I'm gonna regret letting him have that for breakfast!)

And you could tell the kids were getting sentimental over us getting ready to leave when they asked for me to take their pictures at the big fireplace.

At first it was just Jase and Makenzie.

And Makenzie was getting very mad that Jase was ruining "HER" picture.

Then cool, calm, and collective Sonny came in to save the day.

And try to keep Jase sitting still.

And before we said good-bye, Makenzie and Jase got a quick game of Checkers in.

King Me!!!!

It was such a great trip, just way too short. Jase wasn't feeling to great the entire trip, but still managed to have a great time. And now we are missing them already!

Night-Night Prayers

Every night since Jase came home from the hospital, we have said night time prayers with him. Now, that he is getting older, he is joining in with the prayer. Listen to how incredibly cute he is:

Don't you just love how he calls his grandparents "grandpresents". He always corrects me when I call them grandparents. And I just love how he blesses himself. He makes his mama proud.

Handy Manny

See...boys can play dress up too!
He had on the entire Handy Manny outfit.
From the upside down hat, to the work gloves and tool belt.

Home Alone

Yesterday Rob got stuck working a night shift so it was just Jase, Alice, and me for dinner. So, I decided to take advantage of the cheap tab without Rob's beer and appetizer and entree, and the excuse of not having meals portioned in the freezer for just the three of us, and go out to eat. Jase has been on this new kick where he doesn't want to leave. If we are leaving the house, he doesn't want to go bye-byes; he wants to stay home. If we are out, and we are leaving to come home, he doesn't want to go home; he wants to stay where he's at. So, as he crossed his arms across his chest and pouted "I don't want to go to Applebees" I decided to see what he would do if we just left him home. So me and Alice got our jackets on and I kept telling him we were leaving and he was gonna stay home with just Henny. He was perfectly okay with that and told us bye. So we went outside and I shut the door up behind us. I went out to the car, started it, and then me and Alice decided to peek in the window to see what he was doing. I was just sure he was gonna be upset at the door crying for his ma-ma. NOT!!! He was standing there, looking right back at us, with the hugest grin on his face, and waving bye. He honestly could have cared less whether we left him or not. Now don't go calling the authorities or anything. I did go back in and get him before we left. But the that grin and wave he gave us were truly hysterical and priceless!

Egg-cited About Easter

We dug the Easter decorations out this weekend and Jase got so excited. Everytime I put something new up he giggled and pointed and then ran and got his Grandma Alice so she could see. He has been having a blast playing with his "Easter But-tick" and eggs. He's found many uses for them. He's been doing the traditional hidding and finding of the Easter eggs. And he also been doing the more creative "but-tick" on the head hide-n-seek game.

Where'd Jase go???

There he is!!!

Discovering the Joys of the Outdoors

Today started off cold, damp, and super foggy. But, by 4:30 pm, the sun was shining and it was in the 60's. Which means...we spent the afternoon outside! Jase and Henny really enjoyed each other's company today. They share such an amazing unconditional love for each other and are each other's best companions.

For the longest time he just sat on the ledge of the shed and watched Henny play, Daddy work, and Mommy, you guessed it, take pictures.

He gave Daddy a hand staking down his swing set.

And just loved being able to play outside!

He has also recently discovered his shadow. He likes to make it wiggle and wave at him. So he really got a kick out of our shadow's pictures.

The first one is me and Jase and the second one is our whole little happy family of shadows.

Batman Jammies

One of Jase's favorite Monster Trucks is Batman. And although he has no clue that Batman is a superhero, he get excited every time he see anything Batman. So I found these Batman pajama's and we surprised him with them when he got out of the bath tonight. He knew he was gonna get a surprise when he got out of the bath and in this first picture he was trying to think what his surprise might be. I had managed to keep the top hidden and he had no clue I was putting his surprise on him.

He was very excited once he found out what his surprise was and ran to the mirror to see his cape.He was having trouble seeing the cape, and for the first time in a long time he actually wanted me to take pictures of him so he could come look at them on the camera and see the cape. So he was posing so pretty for me.

And when 8:30 pm came, he flew off to bed.
