Silly Boys

So my comical duo had me cracking up tonight. I had the camera hooked up to the TV to show Alice the pictures from ICE. After we were finished looking at them I hit the button on the camera to put it back on camera mode. Since the camera was still hooked up to the TV you could see what I was taking pictures of on the TV. Rob and Jase thought that was the greatest and started being super silly. Here are the pictures I got of the two of them:

I swear, he didn't do what it looks like he was getting ready to do and he definitely didn't say what he looks like he was saying! LOL

Christmas Activity- Day 23 (Part II)

Our second activity for the day, was not planned, but turned into a great spur-of-the-moment activity.

On our way home from the ICE exhibit, we passed a live nativity. So, we stopped to check it out. There was a manger, animals and carolers. They even let us feed the animals carrots.

Christmas Activity- Day 23 (Part I)

Today's activities definitely made up for my far fetching yesterday. Today's activities were AWESOME!!! The first activity was planned. We went to see ICE at Gaylord's National Christmas on the Potomac. It is a display made out of 2 million pounds of ice and is absolutely amazing! Since this is Jase's blog, I try to limit the pictures I post to ones including him. But if I ever print this blog into a book I want to make sure he has the pictures from this in it, so I am breaking my rule this time.
When we first got there they suited us up in some thermo-coats because the exhibit was freezing!

When you entered the exhibit, you walked into a winter nature scene.

There were deer.

And a bridge that took you over a scene of fun loving polar bears playing on the ice.

(That is Rob and Jase up on the bridge.)

On the other side of this room was a traditional American family in their living room on Christmas morning. The entire room and the family where all made of ice.

As you left this room, there was a horse drawn carriage to lead you out.

The next scene was the penguin village!

From there, we went into the slide room. This was so cool and I really wish Jase would have gone down one of the slides. There where 4 slides all made entirely of ice.

They can't have all this North Pole ice with out a Santa's workshop! His workshop had everything. The elves and Santa where there. The coolest thing was the toy factory where they had real toys with an ice replica right next them.

The last scene was the most amazing and I am really disappointed that the pictures don't even begin to do it justice.

It was by far one of the most amazing things I've seen and I'm so glad we were able to go!

Christmas Activity- Day 22

I am really stretching it for Activity 22. Does hanging out with his out-of-town cousins that are visiting for the holidays count as an activity? It does! Great! Then Activity 22 was going to VA to visit with Sonny, Makenzie, and of course the rest of the VA clan. (And celebrate Paw-Paw Jack's birthday. But if I add that in then I really can't count it. LOL)

They played in the basement pretty much all night. They were jumping all over the couch cushions like they were little trampolines.

And how can you tell them not to do it, when the biggest kid of all is jumping right along with them!

Waking Up on Us

Mornings have turned very interesting at our house. Jase used to just quietly lay in bed and we would here him singing or talking through the monitor and go get him. About 4mo. ago it changed to him hollering, "Mommy, it's wake up time!" But, he would still stay in bed till we went in there to get him. Recently, I woke up and walked into the living room to find Jase sitting on the couch playing with his toys! It was 7 A.M. when I found him and I have no clue what time he actually had gotten up! He has been doing this off and on since then. We still have the baby monitor, he is just being that quiet as he sneaks out. So, this time I wasn't surprised to walk out of the bedroom and see his door open, but I was surprised to see him passed out on the chair! I can't believe he didn't fall off! I picked him up and put him back to bed and he slept for another 2 hours.

Christmas Activity- Day 21

Rudolf, have you seen my son?
LOL
Is that not the cutest little thing!?!

A Letter From Santa

Jase had a wonderful surprise in the mail today....

A LETTER FROM SANTA!

I think he could have done without the green candy cane, though! LOL

We truly have the best mail lady!

Christmas Activity- Day 20

Rob has been begging me to get the stuff to make Rice Crispy Treats for months now. So as I flocked to the grocery store with every other person in the area buying all the milk and bread in stock, I picked up the necessary ingredients. This was one of my favorite activities because the three of use worked together the entire time making the treats. (I know I'm not in any of the pictures, but I swear I helped make them!)

Blizzard of '09

The snow has finally stopped falling and Jase has witnessed history! We had a record breaking snow storm here in the DC area: the most snow fall in one day and the most snow fall during the month of December. It was also the 5th biggest storm in this area of all time! We got 17 inches at the house! Jase had been fighting a cold, but we had to let him out for a little bit...I mean like I said...this was history in the making! The snow was literally up to his crotch which would have made walking in the snow nearly impossible and would have nearly buried him in the cold, wet stuff. So, Rob being the creative, wonderful dad that he is, dug a snow maze in the back yard. He dug out all kinds of paths that Jase could run through. He got to play in the snow, he could walk, and he didn't get all wet with the cold snow. He had a blast running through the maze with me, Rob, Alice and Henny.

And what must you always do after playing in the snow?...

Drink hot chocolate, of course!

We even had snowman marshmallows to but in ours. (Okay, they were really ghosts, but Jase believed that they were snowmen...shh...don't tell on me! LOL)
