Turkey Cookies

Growing up, my mom always helped my brother and me paint turkey sugar cookies. We would cut the cookies out, and then use evaporated milk dyed with food coloring to paint the pretty feathers on the turkey. It is a tradition we had, that me and Andy both did with Sonny, and that this year, I did with Jase. I couldn't find a turkey cookie cutter of my own, so we borrowed my mom's which made the tradition that much better. Jase helped me make the cookie dough. And let me tell you, the four hours needed for the dough to chill was I think the longest 4 hours in Jase's life! He just couldn't wait to paint the cookies. And when the time finally came, Daddy and Grandma Alice helped us paint.

Lowe's Workshop

Jase and Rob have been going to the workshops Lowe's has for kids every other Saturday. It is a really great thing Lowe's does. They give them a kit and a hammer and the kids go at it. Jase has a little Lowe's work apron and gets a patch and award for every kit he puts together. The latest project was a Snowman Gift Card Holder. It turned out really cute, but there is no way I'm giving his master piece away as a gift, so we are going to turn it into a picture frame.

Bath Time

I was just playing with my camera while Jase was taking his bath and thought I'd share some of the pics.
Thinking about what bath toys he wants to play with.

The car wash it is!

"I'm sorry, Mommy! I got the floor wet!"

How can you get mad at a face like this?

I think he is calling me a sucker for falling for "the face."

He loves for me to give him mohawk hair. He calls himself George, one of the Monster Jam drivers who has at least a 6 inch mohawk.

Again...

I heard this weird clunking coming down the hall and Rob came running out into the living room and grabbed the camera. Apparently, Jase found my shoes...AGAIN! LOL

Patrick's Birthday

Jase had another birthday party to go to at Chuck E. Cheese's. This time it was for his buddy, Patrick. Just like last year at his party, Jase opened up almost all of Patrick's presents. Only this year, he wore his birthday crown, too! Jase was really cute though, because Patrick wasn't interested at all in opening his presents. So, Jase would open them and carry the gift over to Patrick to show him what he got.

Juicer

Jase was playing with building blocks today and made this contraption:

He told me it was a juicer. We don't have a juicer, so I have no clue where he got this from. But he proceded to put a cup on it and make juice for everyone.

Playing in the Leaves

Big pile of leaves + Little boy + New camera = Lots of pictures!

Where's Mommy's Birthday Cake.

Rob made sure that my birthday was a great day. But, according to Jase, he forgot the most important thing. We usually don't do birthday cakes for each other because we aren't big cake people. So, Rob didn't get a cake. No biggie, right? Well, Jase wasn't going to let that fly. From the moment I started opening presents he kept asking, "Daddy, where is Mommy's cake?" "Daddy, we have to make Mommy a cake!" They ended up having to take a Christmas Tree Brownie, put a candle in it, sing Happy Birthday with my little "cake."

"I-am-a-ro-bot"

Jase found a new purpose for the parts of our new leaf blower. He kept putting the black tubing arm his arms and walking around raising them up and down saying ,"I-am-a-ro-bot". He mimicked a robot voice and everything.
Even when we were out at dinner, he was moving his arms stiff like that and saying he was a robot. This boy's imagination is just endless!
Jase doesn't stand a chance of being normal with crazy relatives like his Paw-Paw Jack teaching him silly things!

Jase's Turkey

Here is the turkey Jase made at the fall festival he went to.

School's Fall Festival

Jase's cousin, Joy, goes to the local elementary school. They were having a fall festival and Joy invited us to come with her. It was a really nice event. There were all kinds of games and activities that kids of all ages could enjoy.

One of the first games they played was a ball toss. Jase got 1 of 3 balls in. Not bad for a 3 year old!

Then they had to toss a ball and try to knock down a pyramid of cans. The lady said that Jase was the only little to knock them all down!
Then they had to dig through corn kernels to try to find tiny black beans. If they found one, they got a prize.

Next up, was the tricycle race. Jase was trying so hard to peddle by himself. I think he could have done it, but the tricycle was really messed up. I had trouble even pushing it.
For the moose game, you had to use the stick to pick up the rings and put them on the moose's antlers. He used the stick like he does his fork. He used his hands to help put the ring on the stick, and then used his hands to help get the ring off the stick and onto the antler just like he uses his hands to put the food on his fork and uses his hand to make sure all the food makes it into his mouth. LOL
My favorite station was the craft table. They had a table set up where one of the teachers helped the kids make pine cone turkeys. I almost cried seeing Jase sitting there, following all the instructions the teacher gave him and doing it all by himself. And when she asked how he spelled his name so he could leave it there and let it dry, he spelled it for her. How awesome is that! And his turkey turned out really cute!

Next up was face painting. The white paint was clumpy and the art teacher had troubles with Jase's smiley face, but Joy's turned out really good.

One of the last stations we went to was the balloon station where Jase asked the man to make an orange Indian hat for him so it would match his shirt and the Cheetos all over his hands and face.

It was a cute little even and Jase came home with a bag full of candy and prizes.
