Dying Easter Eggs in VA

We try to get the cousins together every Easter to color eggs. This year Julie, Anna, Sara, me, Jase, and Karen were able to make it. We were also grateful to have Jen, Kyle, Abigail and their cousin Katie join in on the festivities. The kids had fun and colored over 3 dozen eggs in record time.
Jase started off using the spoons we provided.

But wasted no time reverting back to his old ways of dunking his entire hand into the dye.

He took an egg and a handful of dye out of the green cup and immediately put it in the yellow cup. The rest of the day he went around telling everyone how he turned the yellow dye light green. He thought that was the greatest!

Anna
Kyle got fancy and starting doing two toned eggs.

Julie helped Sara color an egg.

And Jen and Katie helped Abby.

And Karen wasn't about to let the kids have all the fun!

When all was said and done, they ended up with very beautiful bunch of eggs.

Making Pine Cone Bird Feeders

This is a project I have been wanting to do with Jase for a couple years now. I remember making pine cone bird feeders when I was a kid. I think it was a good think that I waited because he is at the perfect age to do this. He was able to do each step by himself and loved every minute of it!

Step 1: Spread the peanut butter on the pine cone (this was his favorite step because he kept licking the peanut butter...lol)

Step 2: Roll the pine cone in birdseed

Step 3: Tie on a ribbon and hang on a tree branch

Mini Golf

Since Joy was spending the day with us, we wanted to find something fun for everybody to do. Remembering that an old minigolf course by our house re-opened, we decided to go play a round. It was actually a really nice course and Jase just loved the waterwheel house. He kept wanting to go inside and play.

Bouncing His Way Through March

We've been blessed with some beautiful weather this month and Jase is taking full advantage of it. It seems like everyday we are outside playing with his friends and bouncing on the moon bounce.

Sakura's

We ate dinner tonight at the Japanese Steakhouse to celebrate Kelli's birthday and I think Jase enjoyed the night more than anyone. For being such important people in our lives, Jase hasn't spent much time with the Mindel's. That is why I was shocked that he nearly pushed me aside to run into Brian's arms the second we walked through the restaurant's doors. He didn't even want to sit by me. He sat on the opposite side of the table right between Mr. Brian and Aunt Janny. But the highlight of the night for Jase was when the cook went around the table tossing shrimp at people so they could catch it in their mouth. He was so excited for his turn and (with a little help from the cook) actually caught one!

Mischievouse Little Guy

At first, he looks all innocent and cute:
Then, the look slowly appears in his eye:

The innocent look is gone and he is all full of mischief!
Rotten little booger!

Bouncing with Allyson

It was beautiful today...the perfect day for bouncing. Within seconds of getting home, I had the moon bounce set up and a very excited 3 year old by my side. He was so excited, and at the same time, so disappointed that he didn't have any friends over to bounce with him. So it was a very pleasant surprise when his cousin Allyson showed up. The two of them had a blast!

You would think with Allyson being so much bigger than Jase that his safety would be the one in danger...but every time she stood up, Jase would tackle her before she could even jump!

I think he wore himself out! LOL
