Christmas Activity- Day 5

Rob did Saturday's Christmas Activity with Jase. They went to another Lowe's Kid Workshop and built a gingerbread house.

Jase was very proud of himself!

And the house's roof even opens so you can put a special surprise in it.

Christmas Activity- Day 4

I feel like I cheated on today's activity. We were Christmas shopping and to make it special for him, I bought him this Santa Mr. Potato Head. We played with together and took turns putting the hat on our own head and putting the beard on, so it was quality time, but not really an activity.
Oh, but we did sit down as a family and do Jase's "I Spy" Christmas book. I guess if you put the two together its not cheating too bad!

Christmas Activity- Day 2

Today, we went to Jo-Ann's Fabrics and got some wooden ornaments to paint. Today he painted the present.

Christmas Activity- Day 1

So often, we get stressed out and crazy over the holidays that we forget to enjoy them. I want Jase to enjoy every last minute of this season! So, I have decided that everyday, no matter what, we are going to spend some quality time together doing something Christmasy. December first seemed like the perfect day to begin! He woke up that morning asking if it was Christmas yet. It was funny because I told him he still had 25 more days till Christmas. He crossed his arms and said, "I don't want it to be 25 days, I want it to be in 7 days!" Not 1 or 2, but 7! That inspired our first activity. We made a Count Down to Christmas. I found a template for a Santa count down where you glue a cotton ball on his beard everyday and on Christmas, his beard will be full. I cut out all the pieces before he sat down at the table and he just went to work. He did such a good job gluing everything together. And it turned out really cute!

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas...

Following tradition, we decorated the house for Christmas the weekend of Thanksgiving. We started on Friday night. Jase was just as excited as can be. He wanted to help with everything! I know I said the same thing last year, but this year he really is the best age for all the Christmas stuff. Most of our decorations are breakable. That is why I always make sure the first thing we unpack is the box with Jase's Christmas toys. He played with his toys while we did the decorating.

Next task was the tree. Friday night we got it up and put the lights and star on. We didn't decorate it till Sunday. Just like last year, Jase was all about the star!

And after putting up the star, Jase could have cared less that there weren't any decorations on the tree.

Sunday, the boys headed outside to put the lights up. Jase was such a big helper to Rob.

Then, it was time to trim the tree. Jase was so funny, cause he only wanted to hang certain ornaments. He really liked these ginger bread ornaments (which worked out really good because we had two sets of them so we ended up using a set on his tree...but that is another story all in itself that I'll get to in a bit). But he would dig through all the ornaments looking for those and after they were all hung, he was done.

He did hang his annual ornament, though. We decided his first Christmas that every year we would buy him one ornament that represented him or what he was in to that year. Then many, MANY years from now, when he moves out, he will have his own set of ornaments. This years ornament was...a Monster truck, of course!

Since he wasn't into decorating the family tree, I told him he could go decorate his tree. He has a little tree in his room. Before he could get started, he had to set up all his "aminals" or as he calls them "his kids" (with snacks) so they could watch him trim his tree.

In the living room, we told him he had to spread the ornaments out and was doing a really good job about not bunching them up. He might not have done so good with his tree...

He's hung them all. Can you find them?

Let me help you out....How bout now?

Yes...he put 8 ornaments...ALL on ONE branch! LOL

And he thought it was just perfect!

And I think he is perfect!

So we are decorated and patiently awaiting Santa!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Once again, we spent Thanksgiving at Grandma Betty's and Paw-Paw Jack's. We were surrounded by so many loved ones and had a really nice day. Jase spent most of the day playing with Anna.

They ate their snack together.

Started the first band in history with two lead guitarist.

And played outside while the turkey was smoking.

When dinner time came we took up two whole tables.

After dinner, the guys went down stairs for the Raiders v. Cowboys game.
