The Greatest Show on Earth

Jase's Grandpa Jack and Grandma took him, me, Rob, Julie and Anna to the Ringling Bros. Barnum and Baily's Circus. We got there early and were able to go onto the floor for some hands on and up personal circus activities.

Jase got to wear a vest from the circus wardrobe
And him and Da-Da got to pretend they were doing stunts on the trike
We also got sit on the center stage.
Jase enjoyed curling up with Grandpa Jack and watching the show.

Daddy shared his clown cup snow cone during intermission which totally pumped Jase up for the second half of the show.
If you ask Jase about the circus, the first thing he mentions is the elephants. They where his favorite! He kept grabbing the camera and holding it up wanting me to take pictures of them. He actually helped me take this one. I held the camera and he snapped the pic.

Grandpa Jack was gonna make sure Jase didn't go home empty handed. So of course, what did Jase pick out....

An Elephant!!!

Which he carried the entire way home!

Easter Cookies

It was our job to bring dessert to Easter dinner, so we decided to make sugar cookies. Jase did all the work, though:

He mixed up the cookie dough...

He rolled out the dough and cut out the cookies...

Then he put on the finishing touches by painting them in pretty pastel Easter colors.

Kids Say the Darndest Things

Mr. Chatterbox has really been cracking us up lately with some of the things that has been coming out of his mouth. I thought I'd share with you some of the best:

1.) When Jase goes potty here at the house he sits on a little seat that nestles into the regular seat of the toilet. Well, we were at Toy's R Us in the bathroom and I go to put him on the pot. He looks at the toilet...looks at me like I am crazy...and says, "Ma-ma, it's too big!"

2.) I was putting a little telephone stand up in the attic while Jase was watching cartoons. I had pulled the attic ladder down and was half way up with the stand in tow when Jase came running down the hall hollaring at me, "MA-MA! BE CAREFUL!"

3.) We were walking through the little convience store by our house buying some hotdogs and buns for dinner. We walked past a display of Miller Lite and Jase got all excited and told the cashier, "Look, It's Kurt Busch!"

4.) We were in the car the other day and Jase, out of no where says, "Ma-ma, your hair is black, and mines is yellow."

Now that I am sitting down trying to write them all down, my mind has gone blank. I'll just have to do another blog like this sooner so I don't have so many of them to remember. Hope they made you laugh, though!

Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt

Every year our neighborhood holds an Annual Easter Egg Hunt. We've been before with Allyson, but this was the first year Jase went. He really had a blast. He found eggs that were in the easy spots and some that were pretty tough to find. The poor little think was too passive and slow, though, cause he would spot one, and before he had a chance to get it some other kid had already snatched it up. It was really a nice event, though. Here are some of the pictures from it. Of course Jase's favorite Leapleys were there.
Let the Easter Egg Hunt begin!
Jase was found one in the bush.
Jacob gave him a helping hand.
Finding some eggs that were really hidden.
And he found some way up high in the tree.
And some on Mr. Leapley's work table.
Opening his eggs to see what surprises were in them.
He had just as much fun getting the "candy canes" out of the eggs as he did finding the them.

See, a "candy cane" LOL

After everything was done, Jase found a quite spot to re-examen his loot.

And of course I'm not gonna be at the Leapley's with such handsome men and not take some pics with the scenery. I'd die for their house with that view!

Potty Training

Yesterday I decided to try the potty training thing again. I had tried back in Dec., but he wasn't quite getting it. So, Friday, when we all got home, we pulled the training pants back out. Now Jase usually goes all night with out going. And when he's up, he only goes about 4 times all day. And this time he actually seemed excited about the "Big Boy" underwear. He even asked me to take pictures of him in them when he saw me with the camera. Well, in his words, "Mama, take picture of my butt with these!" (as he pointed to his underwear) Ha Ha! The boy cracks me up. He posed and everything for me.

All this excitement was quickly shattered when he wet himself 3 times between 4:30 and 6:30! I mean come on...the kids who only needs his diaper changed once between lunch and bedtime went three times in two hours! Needless to say, I was very frustrated after the third time. Then it dawned on me, maybe he started to go, felt it, and made himself stop. And after I changed him and got him all nice and comfy again, he'd continue his business. This calmed me down some, and when he stayed dry the rest of the night, my confidence was regained. This morning when he woke, he was dry again! Yay! And went on the potty! Double Yay!! We did have one nasty #2 accident, but dry all morning! Then we had to go out. I didn't trust the training pants on an outing, so we put some Pull-Ups on him and those...he loved! They have the "Cars" characters on them and I told him that McQueen and Mater would be upset if he peed on them. That must be all he needed, cause he stayed dry and used the potty the rest of the day!

I am so proud of my big boy!

Wish us luck that we have the same success tomorrow!

Bowling

We took Jase bowling for the first time today and although this picture of Rob and him is absolutely adorable, the bowling adventure...not so much. He loves watching us bowl on wii so we though he would really enjoy it. We made the mistake of going to Toys R Us first, though, were he got Mak, the tracker trailer from "Cars." He wanted nothing to do with bowling because it required him putting the truck down. We took him to the alley kicking and crying his first couple turns thinking he would see how much fun bowling was and forget about the truck. But, we weren't successful. At least he likes the truck, though!

Cleaning His Mess

I've learned the secret to getting your toddler to clean up after himself when he eats. You just have to feed him something that is absolutely scrumptious! This morning I made Jase these chocolate covered cinnamon twist breakfast thingies. They were pretty big so I just put one on his plate and he devoured the thing in less time than it took me to pour his glass of milk. Then, he licked all the chocolate icing off his plate and fingers. And as you can see, he didn't stop there. He even licked all the chocolate off his face! You should have seen him trying to get the last little bit off his chin. I guess next time we have spaghetti I should use chocolate syrup instead of spaghetti sauce to avoid the mess. LOL! He wishes!!!! LOL
