The daily good deed on Jase's advent calander was to make a Christmas card for a solider. Before he got started I sat down with him and explained what a soldier was and why it was a good thing to make them cards. He was so excited to get started and worked so hard on his card. The whole time he was working on it he was saying things like, "This is for 'MY' soldier mom!" "MY soldier is gonna like this mom." It was so cute.

After he was done, I asked him if he wanted to say a prayer for "HIS soldier" and he proceeded, with no coaxing:
Dear God,
Please let 'my soldier' be home with his family next year for Christmas.
Amen.
God bless his sweet little heart!
