Turkey Cookies

Growing up, my mom always helped my brother and me paint turkey sugar cookies. We would cut the cookies out, and then use evaporated milk dyed with food coloring to paint the pretty feathers on the turkey. It is a tradition we had, that me and Andy both did with Sonny, and that this year, I did with Jase. I couldn't find a turkey cookie cutter of my own, so we borrowed my mom's which made the tradition that much better. Jase helped me make the cookie dough. And let me tell you, the four hours needed for the dough to chill was I think the longest 4 hours in Jase's life! He just couldn't wait to paint the cookies. And when the time finally came, Daddy and Grandma Alice helped us paint.
