We had our 3rd annual pumpkin carving party with Miss. Allyson the night before Halloween. Neither her nor Jase where really into it this year. They were both thoroughly disgusted by the pumpkin guts and refused to touch them. It was actually quiet comical seeing their reactions, especially Jase's. He would start to put his hand it, then quickly withdrawal it saying, "EWWW! Yuck!" We even gave him a scoop thinking that might help with the gross factor. He would put the scoop in as far as it would go without his hand actually entering the inside of the pumpkin, then he would drop the scoop and repeat his "EWWs" and "Yucks!"
They did sit at the table and color the pumpkins with markers and watched me and Rob carve the three big pumpkins that we managed to save from the squirrel attacks.

They might not have participated in the carving process, but they enjoyed the finished products. Of course I kept with tradition and made my pumpkin match Jase's costume. Silly me forgot Muno had a mouth, though, and had to go back after I was done and squeeze one in on the bottom of the pumpkin. Allyson picked the Skeleton template out of a book we had. And Rob's creative mind came up with the other design on all on his own.
