Once again, Jase spent his Fourth of July at the Leapley's, eating crabs (okay...watching mommy and daddy eat crabs while Aunt Lizzie wins him over with tons of his favorite snacks), playing with his favorite cousins and watching fireworks. The kids (and me...hehe) got into a huge silly string fight. And once again, Jase ruined another shirt with watermelon and ice cream drippings.
As night fell, we headed over the bridge to Colonial Beach to watch the fireworks. Rob gave Jase his first sparkler. As soon as Rob handed it to him, he took off towards Jacob, chasing him down trying to burn him with the sparkler. He actually put a burn mark on Jacob's pants! So, we decided it was safer to let him play with the glow sticks and the unopened boxes of sparklers. Then, the fireworks started and he curled up in my lap for the show. He was barely awake, but forced himself to keep his eyes open, gazing at the sky till the last firework.
