Day 1
We got to the camp grounds a few hours before everyone else and Jase had to check everything out. There was so much he wanted to do, he didn't know what to do with himself. We went from activity to activity spending only about 5 minutes at each before he got excited over the next thing and off we went. First we started off playing putt-putt. He had never played before and had more fun dropping the ball in and out of the hole than he did hitting it with the club. And no matter how many times Rob showed him how to putt like Tiger, he still insisted on the one handed scoot shot.
Next. we went to the fishing pond where we saw about 5 small fish and one monstrous fish swimming around the shore.
After that, we went to the arcade.
Then on to the Jumping Pillow. Jase loved this thing!
Me and Rob were already getting tired by this point and we had only been there about an hour. We decided to slow things down a bit and head onto the camp site. As we arrived at our site, we got a phone call letting us know everyone else had just arrived. So we spend the next few hours setting up camp. Jase's favorite spot to hand out was in Grandpa Jack's tent bouncing on his air mattress.
Jase has never had trouble falling asleep in new places. He's also never had any problem sleeping in a tent, but for some reason he just wasn't falling asleep the first night there. So, when I peeked in the tent around 11:00 when we paused from our card game to make s'mores, I went ahead and let him get up and have one. This was the first time he was awake for the s'mores, and he told me today that "the marshmallow sandwich with chocolate on the fire" was his "favorite part of camping."
