Jase just thought that snake was the coolest thing in the world. Rob, however, was on snake look out the rest of the day. He kept making reference to the snake through-out the day and its description went from a 3 ft. snake to an 8 ft. snake. LOL
We decided to hike a trail that was right there by the Nature Center and it was a beautiful little 1/2 mile walk. Jase really enjoyed the stroll through the woods and all the cool things we saw.
The guys were checking out the little pond along the trail for some creepy critters.
Our little nature walk turned Jase into a tree hugger.
Along the trail were a couple benches where Karen had us stop so she could take a couple family photos for us.
Jase was such a big boy and hiked the entire trail on his own. He never once asked to be carried.
Daddy was very proud of his big boy!
All that hiking worked up our appetites. So, we had a nice little picnic followed by a friendly game of frisbee.
We all pigged out on sandwiches and fruit. Jase was so excited when Karen shared their cantaloupe! Cantaloupe is his favorite!

He thought since all the grown-ups were playing frisbee he could sneak back into the snacks without being detected. Caught red-handed mister!
After lunch we went to the stables and looked at all the horses. A nice man let us pet his horse but Jase was a little scared. He would put his hand out like he was going to pet it, then pull it back right before he touched the horse.
After visiting the stables, we headed back to the Nature Center to see the 1:00 showing in the planetarium. Jase just loves the stars and moon so this was right up his alley. He listened and watched as the Ranger showed the constellations and plants that we would see over the next couple days in the night sky. After his presentation, the Ranger asked the kids if they had any questions. Of course all the kids, including Jase, raised their hands and asked questions. After one little girl asked "Did you know my mommy took karate lessons when she was a little girl?" I was nervous to hear Jase's questions. But the smart little booger asked, "Where is the moon? When will we see it again?" (It is a new moon.) All the other kids got short answers to their questions, but when Jase asked his, the ranger turned the lights back off, showed the kids what the moon will look like as it changes through its faces and took them on a trip to the moon with Buzz. It was really awesome!
After the show, we headed to a different section of the park to check out the river.
It was a really great day and I am so happy Karen and Sonny invited us to go with them. When we decided to call it a day, Jase put his hands on his hips and said:
"Hey, I was having fun at the park!" LOL
